Christmas Comforts

On Christmas Day, Ingrid and I woke up, opened gifts we had from others and exchanged gifts with each other. Ingrid looks so cute in these fancy Burberry earmuffs she got from my mom.



After opening her first present, Ingrid and baby presented me with one of my many Christmas gifts...



... a portable breathalyzer so that I never have to worry about driving drunk! How wonderful and useful!



Ingrid's holding a foot spa that she mentioned she wanted. She clearly doesn't look thrilled about it, but my other gifts were a hit... honest.



After our morning gift exchange, we headed over to my folks' house for lunch. I had never seen the 101 so barren and we made it to the Westside in no time.



For Christmas, mom prepared some delicious comfort food for us all to enjoy. And nothing's more comfortable for Ingrid than holding a sushi roll in her hand.



Ingrid has been wanting to learn Japanese so that she can teach the baby a few words once he's born, so Mom got her a set of 10 compact discs to help her learn. How sweet, ma!



My brother was working that day, but left a couple of gifts for Ingrid from Mom's the Word. Sometimes that guy really surprises me and does things I'd never expect...



The first gift was this great box of Mustela lotion that helps prevent stretch marks from developing during pregnancy. Great gift, Shawn... Ingrid swears by this stuff.



The second gift was this versatile sweater that Ingrid and mom couldn't figure out how to wear. Not as great as the first gift, but thoughtful nevertheless. And you don't have to tell Ingrid she can return it if she doesn't like it because that's already a given. Ha! Thanks for the thoughtful gifts, bro.



Even after opening all the wonderful gifts that day, perhaps there's nothing that puts a bigger smile on Ingrid's face than eating some chocolate and reading a People magazine in front of the television. I'll definitely have to remember that for next year. Merry Christmas!
